MACBETH GETS A GREAT RESPONSE

Audiences and critics praise all the hard work done in Melissa Lourie's production of this magnificent play at Middlebury Actor's Workshop.  Our tour included stops at Town Hall Theatre, The Paramount, and The Flynn (some of the largest theatres in the state). Very proud of the tremendous student outreach through Town Hall Theatre and a performance for 1100+ students at The Flynn

“Maravich makes it seem as though the soul of Macbeth is melting in front of the audience’s eyes” – Brent Hallenbeck, Burlington Free Press

Pictured here with Chris Caswell - an electrifying Lady Macbeth. Would share the stage with her any day! Such a generous, smart, and talented artist.

Arts Literacy Institute in Vermont

It was an honor to be invited to attend the Arts Literacy Institute. Our session focussed on the ways in which educators can use arts integration within their classrooms to promote literacy and build community. I've been doing this work as a member of the Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble since 2010, and was grateful the institute asked me to attend. I was inspired by all the educators, Stacy Raphael and the master teachers of Words Come Alive at The Flynn, Kurt Wooten, Arnie Aprill, and Gowri Savoor.

You're all doing such important work!

PHOTOGRAPHED here with the brilliant and ground-breaking, Kurt Wooten.

SOCAPA

Great week of working with young filmmakers and actors at SOCAPA. Terrific group of students,  instructors, and film professionals. Pictured here with colleague and new friend - the talented instructor, director and producer, Miguel Silveira.

Bread Loaf Session Begins

It's shaping up to be another thrilling summer at Bread Loaf. In rehearsals for a production of an adaptation of John Dos Pasos' U.S.A and collaborating with some remarkable theatre artists and scholars in the classrooms...PLUS, I get to spend time with some of my very favorite people! Great to be back on the Mountain.

Vermont Young Playwrights 2016

Directing a rehearsal for Vermont Young Playwrights Festival

Directing a rehearsal for Vermont Young Playwrights Festival

Over the course of the year, Flynn Teaching Artists have residencies in schools throughout the state of Vermont to help students develop new plays. The work culminates in a 2-day festival where student playwrights come together to have professional theatre artists direct + perform in their plays. I am fortunate to have been a part of this festival since 2009 and I'm continuously inspired by the talent, commitment, and insight of all the student writers + artists.

Bread Loaf comes to a close!

One of the most fulfilling summers at Bread Loaf as a teaching artist and actor. The work on these two plays in Repertory - particularly James Baldwin's BLUES FOR MISTER CHARLIE - was one of the proudest achievements in my career.

I'm pictured here with my good friend and incredible actor/playwright, Stephen Thorne.  A much needed evening off at the end of the term, the entire acting ensemble gathered at my place in Vermont for some great food and a gorgeous sunset. It also happened to be my Birthday!
